A group of about 20 friends celebrated my girlfriend’s 29th birthday last Sunday, March 20th, 2011 at the People’s Republic of Brooklyn bar and restaurant. The idea was to have brunch at a dope spot and early enough for people to drink during the day. I had some delicious blueberry pancakes with swirls of caramel sauce on the side. The pancakes were so good I really didn’t need to put too much syrup. As I noticed a majority of the group taking advantage of unlimited mimosa’s for $15, I began …

What makes barbecue delicious? Just thinking about it makes my mouth water. Imagine a rack of baby back ribs in front of you, meat falling right off the bone as you take each bite. Hmmm… isn’t that delicious? Finger licking good!
In August of 2010 the SFQ – The Original San Francisco-Styel Barbecue Sauce introduced their sauce to the world. The idea of creating a San Francisco BBQ sauce came about in the kitchen of couples Michele and John. After a long debate of what ingredients …

That’s right! PSYCHO Donuts, known for being the most unusual donut shop in the world. It truly has earned its reputation in my book. A friend of mine took me to their Campbell, CA location recently and to my surprise, the shop was nestled in a quaint little plaza. Upon entering the shop, we were greeted by a nurse who handed me a piece of bubble wrap. “uhm, what is this for?”, I asked. She smiled and casually said, “nothing, just for you to pop”. So, as …

The Napa Valley is an amazing place that you have to see for yourself. A lot of people talk about it and say how wonderful it is to visit but some still don’t understand the reason why. Well, this is because they have never been. Hearing it from people just isn’t the same as experiencing it for yourself.
I was completely blown away my first time visiting Napa. It was just breathtaking and an amazing place to visit. Yeah, that feeling might have also been influenced …

Sha sha Shabu-ya roll call.. my name is Eva ..(just kidding)
Now that I have your attention, lets talk about shabu shabu. I’ll be honest, first time I heard my friends say, “let’s grab “shabu-shabu” for dinner”, I was thinking, “hmm, isn’t that a drug?” – super fail!
Talk about all-you-can-eat meat and veggies! Japanese shabu shabu as I found out was similar to Sukiyaki (also a Japanese dish, but more of a fixed recipe). I’d compare shabu shabu to the Chinese Hot Pot as the preparation doesn’t call …

Have you ever had something that you can’t get enough of? Food that just melts in your mouth and you just want to keep eating it. If so, you’ve got to try Satayfied’s barbecue. I’m not the only one feeling this way either, people were lining up from all over the place just to get a taste. Who wouldn’t line up, as soon as you get out of your car the smell of barbecue just fills up your nostrils.
The barbecue taste is a combination of sweet, …
